Hydro Flask vs. Simple Modern Cup

Hydro Flask vs. Simple Modern Cup

Hydro Flask

About a year ago, my boyfriend gifted me a Hydro Flask water bottle. I was a bit apprehensive at first. I had long been in the bad habit of buying plastic water bottles whenever I was thirsty. Additionally, I had a scarring experience with a Swell water bottle when I lived in NYC, and well, quite literally, it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. So, I had long held a grudge against the high-end water bottle market. However, shortly after my boyfriend bought me a Hydro Flask, I realized I didn’t like leaving home without it. I realized it kept the water much cooler, and as a result, I drank more water.I loved the convenience, and I truly realized it was nice to always have cold water.

Influenced By TikTok

With quarantine came my (not unique) obsession with TikTok. I quickly grew to love the @itsmetinx account (she’s my queen) and was generally inclined to make purchases based on Tinx’s sporadic product recommendations.

One particular day I listened and watched as she described the Simple Modern Cup. Tinx went on to say it was a Victoria Secret Model must have and that it kept water extremely cold, and I was sold.

Simple Modern Cup

Today the Simple Modern Cup has taken over the place where my Hydro Flask once stood. I would say both water bottles keep the water just as cold, which is amazing, and honestly, the reason I have been drinking more water! Recently, I have been adding FitFormula’s Fruit & Veggie Blend to my water to get more fruits and vegetables into my diet. However, the Simple Modern Cup has a straw, like a real straw, and if you’re like me, I’m a sucker for a good straw. It’s helpful for lipstick and honestly prevents me from spilling all over my face half the time, which says more about me than it does about Hydro Flask.  Anyway, I know you can get a Hydro Flask water bottle with a straw, but it doesn’t resemble a traditional straw like the Simple Modern, and it’s more difficult to wash.

Overall, the Simple Modern Cup is a trendier look and easier for me to use.  Additionally, the Simple Modern Cup is slightly cheaper than the Hydro Flask. Although the Hydro Flask water bottle might be better if you’re hiking Mt. Everest — we’re in code purple (whatever that means), so I hardly leave my apartment.

If you want a bottle that keeps your water super cold and is convenient and trendy, I’d go with the Simple Modern Cup.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
