Inspiring Women: Announcing the 2nd Annual Unbreakable Awards

We all know a woman with a courageous spirit, one who overcomes obstacles with grace and inspires those around her. Perhaps it’s the single mother starting her own personal training business to help other women find their strength again, maybe it’s the friend who started a women’s running movement to inspire women to use running as an empowering outlet, or it’s you, coaching underprivileged youth in your spare time and inspiring the next generation of women to believe in themselves. These are just a few of the many characteristics of women who are champions in health and fitness––women who are determined, inspiring and most of all – unbreakable.

By now you’ve probably thought of a number of women who are making a difference and changing the life and health of others for the better. Women like this often go unrecognized on a day-to-day basis,  which is why for the 2nd annual year we’re shining the spotlight on these women so we can do what we can to help them continue to change lives.

We’re thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Unbreakable Award, as part of our national outreach program, to bring honor and reward to women who are following their health and fitness dreams.

One of our winner’s last year was Charice Wilczynski, a teacher and the only female ice hockey youth coach at her rink; she used the money she won from the Unbreakable award to buy hockey equipment for underprivileged families. Charice was recently recognized by the Chicago Blackhawks as Outstanding Community Member of the game for making a positive impact on youth academic and athletic programs in the area, and she was recently honored by P.K. Subban, defenseman of the Predators, as an advocate for his ‘inspired by the brave’ campaign.

“I have heard it said that “your true passion should feel like breathing; it’s that natural.” And by committing myself to serving the youth at our local rink, it is my greatest hope that I will lead the next generation to become inspired about the passion of service to others who want to breathe the magic of hockey in communities all across the world,” said Charice.

Erin has overcome many odds to battle addiction and help other women build their strength from the inside out. Erin used her award money to purchase more portable fitness equipment and invested money in her blog which has allowed her to reach a larger audience with her message of strength, overcoming obstacles and her honest and openness to address sensitive issues like battling addiction that inspires others.
“I feel like I have an important story and an important journey that I’ve gone through to get to the place I am and I’ve always wanted to share that with others so that they’re able to learn how to persevere and love themselves. It helped reinforce what I’ve been trying to do and helped to show me that I’m going in the right direction,” said Erin.
